Initially, my work with Voices for Children (VFC) was focused on creating print and digital graphics for the Marketing and Communications Department. This scope of work quickly changed as I was reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications and began to help with more high-level campaigns, like annual fundraisers and branded programs. I assisted with strategy and art direction, helping the M+C team understand where visual communication can replace or augment long form copy. I also helped align the organization's overall visual aesthetic to utilize more of their brand colors and adhere to a set number of fonts to build cohesion, increase their brand presence and recognition, and build trust among their audience.
One of the larger projects I completed was to create an official brand guidelines document to replace VFC's previous a 5-page style guide. The final result was a robust 30+ page document with instructional copy for non-designers to understand both high-level and detailed design principals and comply with brand standards.
